All the students who have started learning coding requires laptop which will support them through out there journey. Today we are going to look at the factors you should keep in mind while purchasing laptop for coding purpose. Along with that will suggest best value for money laptops available in the market.

List of factors to consider before buying Laptop:-
  1. Hardware Specifications
  2. Battery Life
  3. Screen Size and Resolution
  4. Operating System
  5. Graphics

Hardware Specifications:- Opting for a powerful multicore processor always helps but as a beginner Intel Core processors family (i-series) serve the purpose quite decently. I would not suggest AMD processors because it sometimes causes driver issues for software from different vendors. You can go through this blog from Tom’s hardware for comparing Intel V/s AMD. So I don’t want you to get troubled for that.

Battery Life:- Being a school/college student you will be travelling a lot with your laptop. There are chances that you won’t always get charging ports to power your laptop. So whichever laptop you are going to buy should have at least 5-6 hours of battery life.

Screen size and Resolution:- Bigger the screen better it is for your eyes. But bigger screen will also drain the batteries lot faster. So to have a trade-off with screen size and battery life 14-15.6 inch IPS displays are the best. Always make sure that resolution should be 1080P. This gives better clarity and lower strain on your eyes.

Operating System:- As a beginner in technology space , it is better to not get overwhelmed by the complexities of Linux OS, be it any distribution of Linux. Windows is always easier and user-friendly to deal with than Linux. And you should be more concentrating on the programming language or framework you are learning rather than the operating system. There can be exceptions to this like students who are learning ethical hacking or server administration will require Linux OS.

Graphics:- Integrated graphics with Intel processors is enough to handle most of the tasks. But if you are interested in the track of Data Science, you will require at least 4GB of GPU memory to handle the model training without having severe performance drops.

Since we have covered all the important factors to be considered while buying laptop, let’s go through some of the best laptops currently available in the market satisfying all the conditions.
